Alicia MAUREL studied International Business (BA) + Political Science and International Affairs (MA) in Paris. She worked for 4 years as the Marketing + HR Director of GRM. Alicia was also running the group’s CSR + Welfare Committee. In 2013 she decided to diversify her skills and headed to London where she completed another MA in Culture, Criticism and Curation at Central Saint Martins. She curated exhibitions within the university and with the Guardian’s archive. Her MA thesis focused on the development of art spaces in post-colonial Mauritius – a cultural negotiation in the Third Space. She spent the year 2014 working as a Marketing, PR + Strategy consultant for international brands (such as Bacardi Global) and global charities. She headed home in 2015 to set-up and run various companies in diversified sectors such as cosmetics distribution, paper trading, digital strategy and content production, restaurant business, amongst others. In December 2015, together with Laetitia Lor, she set up the artistic and cultural platform THE THIRD DOT.
