The show is inspired from the life of Judex Bamboche and provides a showcase of some New Orleans tunes performed live by the Kreol Jazz Pioneers and illustrated by dancers. The band will play 1920s-1950s pieces from mythical performers of the Preservation Hall such Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima and puts in the light great singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. As Music is such a dynamic construct, the band will also propose pieces which have been modified and even more creolised; a music Judex baptised as Kreol Jazz.
The Kreol Jazz Pioneers was founded in 2003 by Late Judex Bamboche who believed into diversifying the Mauritian music landscape in proposing New Orleans Jazz music. The group is composed of 6 musicians including different kinds of instruments such as the trumpet, clarinet, alto sax, tenor banjo, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and drums. We tour around the island for live performances in local resorts all year long. They have been performing both locally and internationally (for carnivals) during their years of existence.
