Once back to Mauritius in 1993, he works as an illustrator for a youth newspaper and later he becomes a political cartoonist for L’Express newspaper, before being appointed artistic director of the weekly supplement Expresso. In 1997, he publishes his first book with Editions Vizavi, by the title Port-Louis, Ile Maurice, in which he presents a series of drawings in Indian ink about his hometown. He then publishes two humorous cartoons: Vive la patrie! and Nous les Mauriciens! and illustrates the book by Jean-Claude de L’Estrac L’histoire racontée à mon petit-fils, before settling permanently in Australia in 2000.
