The two brothers, Ram and Nitish Joganah, are popular Mauritian artists and authors, composers, and singers of a genre of music locally called ‘SANTE ANGAZE’, which is music engaged for a cause. They formed a musical group in 1979 known as ‘GRUP LATANIER’, an emblematic group in Mauritius.

They started singing in their teenage years in the 1970s in a society craving for better living conditions. Their lyrics carry strong messages of national unity, calling for deeper reflection for change. Their texts are backed by fusional and acoustic music that reflects the multicultural society of Mauritius; a genre of music appreciated by people of all ages, from different cultural and social backgrounds.

In the 1980s, ‘SANTE ANGAZE’ had a very powerful impact on the population and had repercussions culturally and politically.

In 50 years of career, the Joganah brothers have written more than 40 songs, recorded around 20 albums, collaborated with many artists on various social projects and organized memorable concerts locally and overseas.
Today, in their 60’s, they still sing for a better society for their engagement is timeless.
