A note on the Artists:

PANDIT DEBASHISH BHATTACHARYA is a global inspiration in the contemporary musical scene. From the age of four, a child’s fascination with a Hawaiian guitar begins to grow. This childhood fascination will ultimately lead to the creation of patented guitars and a unique playing style that has been mesmerizing audiences and artists the world over for decades. Global recognition of the patented guitars Chaturangui, Gandharvi and Anandi, which not only excel in sound variety and quality, means these have now become popular instruments in the Indian musical scene. Pandit Bhattacharya has been featured in the Song Line Magazine top 10, Central Asia and Asia pacific world music top 10, Amazon top 100 albums, National Geography and world’s who’s who enlisted artiste. Some awards worth mentioning include 2016 Songlines Music Award, 2009 Grammy Nominee, 2007 BBC Planet Award, 2005 Asiatic society Gold medal, 1984 President of India Gold Medal.

Anandi Bhattacharya is a child prodigy in a family filled with illustrious musicians and singers. Her father, slide guitar master  Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, has been her constant guide, teaching her to develop her skills in understanding music. She has toured the United States, Australia, England, Scotland, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and many more. Anandi has been nominated for the Songlines Music Award 2019 for BEST ARTIST, and nominated for the German Record Critic’s Award for World and Ethnic Music 2018, and featured with Billie Eillish and other incredible musicians in the Best Artists’ of 2018 compilation by POPMATTERS. She will be singing with her father on stage for this one of a kind concert.

Tanmoy Bose will be accompanying Pandit Bhattacharya with the tabla and percussion. Receiving his early tutelage from the legendary Lt Kanai Dutta, Tanmoy became the Gandabandh Shagird {formally initiated disciple in Indian classical music} of the noted torchbearer of the Farukkabad gharana –Pandit Shankar Ghosh. For the last three decades he has been taking lessons from his guru in spite of keeping an extremely busy performing and teaching schedule across the globe. Even as early as being in college he had the rare opportunity of being called upon by another musical legend, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan to perform with him. Another great milestone in Tanmoy Bose’s life was achieved when the greatest ambassador of Indian Classical Music Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar invited him nearly six years ago to play regularly with him around the world and to day he spends almost half the year traveling with the legendary maestro and in turn learning more and getting better with each of the concerts that he plays with him.Tanmoy has been an ardent researcher and composer. His long tours abroad had given him opportunities to interact and play with musicians, composers, choreography and the like he put to very good use his rich experience acquired hereby and created DHWANI, BEYOND BORDERS, TAALYAAGNA, CHATURANG and MOKSH – based on the virtues of Indian Rhythmic nuances. For Tanmoy, music and life are inseparable. Rhythm is his quest of truth and beauty- it transcends all other priorities in his life.
