———————-

An iconic figure of the Mauritian musical landscape, Damien Elisa has collaborated with well-known local artists, such as Kaya, Cassiya, Serge Lebrasse and Jean-Claude Gaspard.

Lyricist, composer, music arranger and multi-faceted musician, Damien started off his musical career at an early age, and very quickly turned his passion to his profession. His style, consisting of a seamless blend of Jazz, Sega, Blues and Seggae, provides a rich, varied and original repertoire. Following his tribute concert to Kaya in February 2019, Damien Elisa returns to the stage with a solo piano performance, entitled, Piano Pieni (literally meaning, Piano Barefeet).

The concert is a retrospective of his 15-year career and draws upon his experiences as well as his influences. He will be playing on the Steinway Piano of the Caudan Arts Centre with one goal – to prove his mettle. Having lost his keyboard recently, his main musical instrument, this concert will be a way for him to find the finds to purchase another instrument, and to continue creating.
